About UDCC: United Day Care Center is a non-profit organization that is run by a Board of Directors. It has been providing quality educational opportunities for children since 1970. The center in Fort Collins started in the First United Methodist Church. The goal was to provide a childcare facility for the children of low-income families in the Fort Collins area. In 1985 they moved to the present United Way building. In 1988 the Loveland Center opened.
United Day Care is unique because they offer a sliding fee based on income, to qualifying parents, who work or attend school. UDCC also has an Adopt-a-Family Program. The money helps provide tuition for children. This enables these children the opportunity to get quality childcare in a climate for growth, comfort, and security that they might not have otherwise had. United Day Care continues to carry out the original intent to provide an affordable, quality childcare center and preschool program to low-and-moderate income families. Enrollment also includes full paying clients, human service clients, employment and training clients, homeless children and children under protective services.
